The Sally Lightfoot Crab is also known as the Nimble Spray, Short, or Urchin Crab. It has a brown body, with orange to yellow rings on the legs. The Sally Lightfoot Crab has long been used as a "tank janitor" to help clean the substrate and rocks in saltwater aquariums.
It actually belongs to a family of shore crabs however, it is less likely than the other genera to go on land. Its carapace is very flat. which allows it to hide in small crevices within rock work.
The Sally Lightfoot Crab is the ultimate scavenger, consuming detritus, uneaten food, algae and everything else in its path, with the noted exception of living corals.
