The Orchid Dottyback originally comes from the Red Sea. Generally found at depths of 1-60 m, making its home in small holes or crevices. They prefer vertical rock faces or overhangs. Generally peaceful, but can be territorial toward similar species. In the past few years breeders have had success getting the Orchid Dottyback to breed in captivity.
If you are planning on getting an Orchid Dottyback be sure to provide plenty of hiding places to help make it feel secure.
